Yes, you have quite a nice driftwood, but do continue giving the tank more plants. Setting up a sparely planted tank initially will definitely invite algae very soon.

How much light are you shooting into the tank?

I personally am quite attracted by the driftwood, its a pretty good choice. But the tank is too empty for now, you need to fill it up for a proper scape to mature.

Studying the water chemistry and nutrients is a science.
Knowing what plants to get and how to use them is an art.
Aquascaping is a marriage of art and science, the logical and emotional.

55W/11 galloon. Quite powerful rite ?

Still trying to control the water ph and nitrate level.
    Current reading:
    ph: 7.5-8.0
    nitrate level: 10mg/l

Will be getting ADA Amazonia soil to lower the ph.

2 feet can used the 3watt per gallon rule if you like, most people use 1x 35w minimum for 2 feet, or 2x 18w; similar to acardia lights.
