Hi there,
What type of filter are you using, and more importantly, what's in it? Seems to me you need finer wool.
hi,
I have a problem here.... Though my plants are growing but i don't get my water as clear as other. There are lots of tiny particles here and there, think it might be caused by the stirring of the substance either by the yamato shrimps or the relocations of the plants... How can i resolve and maintain the water clear? Any bros can share your experience?
Cheers,

I asked this before as I thought that my supplier may not have cleaned the gravel properly. I have VISIBLE sand particles all over my new 3ft tank.
What the LFS told me is to get that sludge remover. I was recommended Biozyme Formule 100 by Mainland Tropical Fish Farm (in Loyang).
It solve the problem after I used up the ENTIRE bottle in 1 week.
Maybe it helps
?? depends on which substract you are using. Most of us using ada or gex, those soils clears after 30mins or so, and water naturally become clear even without the help from the filters.
hi,
It a 3ft tank, and with gex soil with ehiem 2226. Basically, it is a 3 layers filter loaded with bio ring and wool on the bottom layer, 2nd layer with subtrace plus and wool, and 1st layer with wool.
Did twice 50% water change but didnt help much...
Any ideas?

Any external reactor, UV, chiller connected? What's the colour of the water?
Thanks... the connection is like this manner,
skimmer -> Input hose -> canister -> chiller -> output to tank. My CO2 is direct from a glass diffuser (some replica from ADA pollen glass)
In the past, I have a different connection and I think the water condition is much better (if I can recall correctly) but that might also due to I did not relocated much of the plants too... It was a skimmer joined to a input hose that the end is also a suction -> canister - output tank. Have a separate powerhead -> chiller -> CO2 diffuser (internal) -> output tank. I redo the connection as I felt too much equipments in the tanks, not very decent looking.
I also realise that after replacing the internal CO2 diffuser with the replica pollen glass, my plant has lesser pearling, but since i can still see grow on them, I did not bother about the pearling....
Any ideas?
cheers!

Opps, by the way the water was in a clear cloudness case... due to the tiny particles and that is what I am trying to get rid off....

How many days did you run your filter? i think you let it run for a while. If not, you can get ocean free crsytal clear.
water circulation not good enough??
